How do I Prevent Customers from Ordering from Certain Countries?

Answer:

Many accounts use their shipping methods to restrict sales from certain countries. If you are selling intangible products you may want to restrict yours from certain countries as well.

Restricting intangible orders from certain countries.

The ability to restrict the locality of orders is not limited to tangible products. Using the E-Good Country Blacklist feature you can control which countries that you wish to offer your intangible products based on the billing country selected by the customer. If a customer enters a billing country that is restricted in E-Good Country Blacklist they will receive the following error:

Our supplier cannot currently offer these products to you based on your current location of (COUNTRY NAME)

If you still wish to continue with your purchase please use the button provided below to go back and remove these products from your shopping cart:
* (PRODUCT NAME)

To use this feature follow the steps below:

  1. Click on the Shipping tab.
  2. Click the E-Goods sub-category. Every country supported by 2Checkout will be listed under the Allowed section by default.
  3. Review the Allowed list and select the countries you wish to remove.
  4. After all of the countries you wish to remove have been selected, click the Deny link at the bottom of the list. This will move all selected countries to your Denied list.
  5. If you wish to allow a country on your Denied list select the country and click on the Allow link at the bottom of the list.

Restricting shipping to certain countries.

Tangible Products: (Products set up as tangible when they were added to our database.

2Checkout allows you to restrict the shipping of tangible products to certain countries based on the shipping country the customer selects in the purchase routine. If a customer enters a shipping country that is not supported by your shipping method they will receive the following error:

No shipping available to your country

To use this feature follow the steps below:

1. Click the Shipping tab.

2. Click the List sub-category.

3. Click the edit icon next to the shipping method you wish to edit. This will open the Shipping Wizard in a new window.

4. Select Custom List under the Countries section. You will then be directed to the Surcharge Options page (except for free shipping options).
 

5. After making any required edits to the Surcharge page, click the Continue button to be redirected to the Custom Country list page.

6. To add countries to the shipping method, highlight the country(ies) that you are adding to the list and then click the gray Add Countries button to add the country(ies) to the shipping method.

7.To remove countries from the method you will need to place a check in the Remove box to the left of the country you wish to remove and then click the red Remove button.

8.Once you have selected all of the countries you wish to restrict or add to the method you may click on the Continue button at the bottom of the page.

9. Proceed through the other pages in the Shipping Wizard making any additional edits to the method.

10. After you have completed all edits to the method click the Save button to save your changes and exit the Shipping Wizard.
